In Honor Of This Ancient Practice, These Chandelier Earrings Reference A Small Ornament (Late 19Th–Early 20Th Century) Attributed To Probably Tunisia Or Turkey. The Decorative Silver Coins On The Original Are Stamped In Emulation Of 18Th-Century Ottoman Currency; Specifically, Coinage Used In The Year 1797 (A.H. 1203 According To The Islamic Calendar) During The Reign Of Sultan Selim Iii. The Coins In The Museum’S Piece Were Likely Copied From Discontinued Currency Available In Tunisia During And After Ottoman Presence In North Africa.
